abstracts are generated within parahippocampal lobe - multimodal entorhinal cortex
entorhinal cortex contains invariant representations
- objects disregarding point of view, location in space and contextual information (MEC)
- spatial scenes, as patterns of object set (LEC)
on the way to EC information undergoes transformation from detailed sensory data to extracted features to invariants
